Indian Head Injury Foundation - IHIF Newsletter (Jul - Dec 2018)

Dear Trustees, Supporters, Friends and Team Members of IHIF,

Greetings from the Indian Head Injury Foundation and we wish you a very happy, healthy and safe New Year 2019.

Attached is the IHIF Newsletter covering the period 01 Jul to 31 Dec 2018. IHIF continues to march ahead in its Mission to prevent deaths and minimize injuries caused due to Head Injuries, and also provide Rehabilitation to the survivors. In achievement of our goals, the support provided by our Chairman, His Highness Maharaja GajSingh of Jodhpur has been overwhelming. Also, the support that our Trustees, friends, partners and donors have provided, has egged us on to keep marching inspite of the many impediments that came our way.

The high points of our activities during the period under review have been our Head Injury Preventive Workshops, Children’s Helmet Programmes, participation in Training conducted by the Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, First Responder Training to ensure timely support to victims of Road Traffic Accidents, and conduct of workshops for Mentoring of Patients with special needs at our Rehab Centres. The huge expenses involved in our various activities are largely met from Donations received from our supporters; and consequently, the weaker sections can continue to be provided top of the line Rehab facilities and Assistive Services at almost no cost to them. We specially thank ICICI Lombard, HDFC/HT Parekh Foundation, Citi Corp, One Kind Act, John Bissell Foundation and British Polo Day for being very supportive and being our guides during the foregoing six months.

I am very happy to inform you all that we have decided to open a New Rehab Centre in Patna for the needy head and spine injury victims. This Centre will also cater to patients from neighbouring states of Bihar and also from Nepal. If all goes well, it should open by end March 2019. It is being supported by “One Kind Act”, to whom we remain ever grateful.

With my very best regards and we wish you a warm winter season and soon to come Spring.

Once again a very Happy and safe New Year to all of you.
