Details of RAPNEC NG activities in Nigeria in commemoration of WDoR 2023.
World day of Remembrance for Road Traffic victims means so much to me and the entire RAPNEC team, In memory of the 3.7 million people who died and over 50 Million people injured globally to road traffic accident.
RAPNEC NG the lead NGO in Road Safety in Nigeria sees the 19th of November as a day to draw global attention to redirect the advocacy and capacity building program for road users and other critical stakeholders to reducing road traffic deaths by 50% inline with the UN DECADE OF ACTION on Road Safety 2021-2030.
It provides a platform for us and road traffic victims and their families to be remembered and ways to prevent or further reduce road accidents in line with the UN Decade of Action on Road Safety in Nigeria.
Church Services were held in Cross Rivers State and other parts of the country in collaboration with The Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) and RAPNEC NG.
* Visual conference organized by RAPNEC NG, and GFI bringing together experts across the globe to discuss and proffer solutions to reduce the present Road Traffic Crashes by 50% and call for support and Justice for road accident victims.
* Media advocacy was organized during the week to call for justice and support for road accident victims
* Campaigns took place at motor parks and schools to create awareness about the event
WDoR fits automatically into our work and advocacy program, RAPNEC NG has an existing platform that has been celebrating the WDoR over the years, based on our past experiences and activities the intervention was adopted as a consensus from our team of experts who see the program as a continuous exercise, liveraging on our existing network and partners
