-> GUERILLA ACTION: After several months we witnessed the easing of restrictions and the reopening of bar terraces. We gave several bars that reopened the doors of their terraces the materials of the heroic guerrilla with the telling call for reducing drunk driving: »If we survived the closing of bars, let’s survive their reopening! «. We were assisted by our disabled ambassador Nino Batagelj.

-> DRIVE-IN CINEMAS: This summer was once again full of drive-in cinemas. As watching a film is usually connected with relaxation and enjoyment, which is often accompanied by alcohol, the VOZIM Institute once again set out on the mission to spread awareness among visitors against drinking and driving.

-> THE HEROES DRIVE IN PAJAMAS DISCUSSION BETWEEN YOUTH AND DECISION MAKERS: One of our key activities is a local discussion among youth, decision-makers and the professional public, which is carried out in cooperation with the local youth centre in the local environment. At the discussion "we give a voice to young people", so they can define the issue of driving under the influence of alcohol and harmful drinking and present concrete measures to their communities and local decision-makers, with the goal of taking measures and consequently improving the state of road safety and the issue of harmful drinking among young people in their local environment. The local discussion is actively attended by young people who use the methods of youth work to submit their proposals, local decision-makers (municipality), national experts (representatives of the National Institute of Public Health and Slovenian Traffic Safety Agency), local experts (police, firefighters), youth centres and the team of the VOZIM Institute).

SHORT OVERVIEW OF VOZIM INSTITUTE’S ACTIVITIES
Despite the uncertainty that came with the COVID-19 pandemic, we carried on with our activities at the VOZIM Institute. We adapted most of our activities to the circumstances and successfully carried out lectures and workshops online. As the situation in Slovenia is gradually improving, we are already holding in-person activities for the youth.

“INTERNATIONAL SAFETY MEDIA AWARDS” WENT INTO THE HANDS OF OUR HEROES
The third season of the initiative “Heroes Drive in Pajamas – The Calendar of the Naked Truth” received the prestigious “International Safety Media Award”, which is given to the best media campaigns promoting safety. We received the bronze medal, and we are the first Slovenian organization with this kind of accolade. We would like to thank all our supporters and partners, as we would never have been able to reach this point without your help. Thank you for helping us create a better world and for being our loyal companions on the path to safer roads.

MOVING THE VOZIM INSTITUTE’S LECTURES ONLINE

The COVID-19 situation made us rethink the way we carry out the VOZIM Institute’s activities. It was crucial to stay in contact with the youth. We adapted the preventive workshops “I drive but I don’t walk”, “Alcohol=life change”, and “Heroes’ workshops” for the online space, while also training our workshop leaders, the disabled ambassadors, to lead online workshops.

We partnered up with Toyota to hold workshops titled Start your impossible. At the workshops, young people have the opportunity to talk to the Paralympian Anej Doplihar. The goal of the workshops is to encourage and motivate the youth to take action. The participants put themselves in the role of a disabled person and tried to think of things that would be challenging for them. They also looked for solutions to help their close ones if they were in a similar situation.

ITM COURSE
The Ministry of Infrastructure held a course on the topic of sustainable mobility. We highlighted the question of whether sustainable mobility is the future. We spoke about parking management, the bicycle as the vehicle of the future, and modern approaches to traffic-calming in neighbourhoods. We carried out 3 professional workshops and 15 workshops for secondary school students, with 832 participants all in all.
